Volunteer Opportunities
Prayer
*Pray that our guests recognize the love of Christ and their need for him, and be drawn closer to Him through us
*Prayer that volunteers have God's heart for those they meet, that they would have humility and compassion, and also wisdom to understand hidden problems and how to help.
*Prayer that as the ministry moves forward, we tune our ears to God's plan and focus ourselves on what He is doing rather than what we can do. Focus. Wisdom. Dependence on God. This is what we need.
Prayer Co-ordinator
We would like to connect and communicate with the many people and groups who ask 'how can we pray for you?'. The requests go unanswered or vaguely answered, for lack of time and resources. We need someone to coordinate those communications and pass on prayer requests, and maintain contact.
Meal Preparation
Freezer meals are a critical part of this ministry. People need to eat, and we need your help with cooking!
(We provide ingredients and standardized packaging)
Serving Guests In The Room
There is room on the front line to meet and greet guests, share a cup of coffee, fold a few pants, hand out some freezer meals, and grow in Christ as you serve.
Are you available Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30?
One-on-One Guest Assistance
Irene would love to train you to work with clients one-on-one. Involves running errands and shopping with clients, lending a listening ear, advising as needed.
Rides To Or From Shelter
We need someone to give people rides to the emergency shelter or to pick them up in the morning.
Roofing & Renovations
Outreach has been given a house! It needs TLC though. Right now we seek roofers especially, but any renovation help would be huge. Flooring, plumbing, siding... there is lots to do before we can house a family.
Brochure Design
We are in the middle of designing a brochure. We need someone with design skills.
Web Design
We need a professional website! This blog is a great start, but we're ready for a professional site.
Photographer
As you can see from the photos above, our equipment and skills are limited. Occasional professional-quality photos would be very helpful for articles, posts, brochures, etc.
Writer
We need help unearthing and communicating stories. We aim to raise awareness, encourage and inform readers through blog posts, news stories, human interest articles, and our upcoming e-newsletter.

We could use some help streamlining and managing communications between volunteers. Many volunteers span many different schedules and tasks. We need help staying on the same page.
Property Management Counselor/Encourager
Property manager requires assistance dealing with tenants who have mental illness.The encourager would help the manager understand and manage issues. No direct involvement with tenants - more of a counseling role.
